The pandemic has been a real game changer in our lives. Much has been eliminated, delayed, changed and been totally disrupted. Not every one reacts the same way to adversity. Not everyone is at the same station in their spiritual life. I share here, three scriptures on adversity knowing not everyone will relate to the same word from God in the same way.
Pastoring a congregation and not seeing many of them for over a year now is something I never anticipated in pastoral ministry. When it comes to God there is no "heads up" on what comes next. There is a mandate to be ready. What's that song we sing? Time is filled with swift transition. Naught of earth unmoved can stand. Build your hopes on things eternal. Hold to God’s unchanging hand.
Greetings from your church. Let's give thanks. We have been having worship in the sanctuary since August without any incidence of infection. As we transition back to our "reasonable sacrifice" may we as usual, give God the glory for the great things God has done!
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Acts 14:22 Strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.
